The Church of Saint Ann
Faith Development Center
Lawrenceville, New Jersey

This project creates 38,000 square foot faith development center. The two story addition is connected to an existing church via a large, top-lit gallery space that creates an “interior street” and new main entrance off of which is located the church and multiple community spaces including a reception hall, library, music room, day chapel, classrooms and meeting rooms for the various ministries served. This strategy of a central gallery provides a separation between the” scared and profane” spaces and creates a new social gathering space.

Allentown Presbyterian Church
New Addition
Allentown, New Jersey

Size: 22,500 sf
Schedule: Completed 2007

The challenge of this project was how to accommodate a large addition in a historic district.

Growth and demand necessitated an expansion of the client’s program. The new addition houses administrative offices for the church and school, classrooms for religious education and a day school.

To ameliorate the impact of the three-storey addition on the historic district, the building is nestled into the site, resulting in a two-story exposure along the historic view shed. The addition is constructed of molded brick of a type and color that is compatible with the existing 1850s Federal Style church.

Princeton Presbyterian Church
New Addition
West Windsor Township, New Jersey

This 22,000 addition triples the size of the existing church sanctuary to accommodate 720 people. The church is designed in a central plan and features a 100 foot tall cross tower. The lower level accommodates multipurpose spaces for social gatherings, receptions and ministry functions. The wood-frame building is clad in stucco with a standing seam roof on the cross tower.

Seventh Day Adventist Church
New Jersey Headquarters Renovation
Lawrenceville, New Jersey

This project involved the transformation of a two-story brick building, formerly the call center for a major retailer, into a new headquarters for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The 12,000 square foot space provides services to its member churches and accommodates the requirements of 25 separate ministries. Finished in cultured stone with a standing seam roof, the project creates a welcoming gathering space, meeting rooms, education and administrative spaces, and a production/recording studio capable of streaming productions to the its member churches.
